The man jolted awake again, howling in pain. Avery was successful in exactly what she intended. The skin on his hands blackened and peeled away from the blaster shot before her eyes. "Damn you, you cantina whore!" He screamed at Avery. His scream reverberated around the room, filling Avery's skull with noise. The scientist looked pitiful. He was shaking in his bonds whether from shock or pure rage. A few tears rolled down his face. "Look, I'd tell you what you want to know, but I dont know what you want to know. I come in at my designated time, and leave at my designated time. All I ever get to see is the inside of the lift and the hallway leading to this room. Whoever I'm working for has each researcher arrive at different allotted times. I've only ever seen a handful of people in this entire installation. Please don't shoot me again!" he pleaded.
Please roll a listening check at the end of your next post.

"Now, why didnt you say so in the first place? If you had just been civil, I probably wouldn't have blasted your hands. And relax - it's nothing a little bacta can't fix. I just had to make sure you weren't going to try to slice or dice me for a while. So, let's try this again. Why are you researching that patient over there?" Avery gestured to the table.
Usually, she wouldn't have asked or cared. She had a mission to complete and a reputation for not meddling in other people's business - it was the only thing that allowed her to get along with the Hutts. But whether she liked it or not, she was committed to helping the injured patient, and any information she could gather on his condition would help with treatment once they got out of here.
However, she had a more important reason for asking about the "procedure". After seeing the lab, she had become increasingly unsettled. Why were classified CEC ship designs and the prototype stored in the same facility as Dr.s Evil's torture lair? It didn't make any sense, but there had to be a connection between the two. Any information that she could squeeze out of the mad scientist might help her to figure out how the two were related and what this place was. It wasn't a part of the mission, but there was some nasty stuff going on here and she needed to know what she had just gotten herself into.

Facility MapThe man attempted a shrug, but it just looked like he twitched instead. "I'm afraid that's classified," he told her, knowing that explanation wouldn't appease her. Relief came across his face as he looked behind her. Avery had been too busy interrogating to notice the two guards who had advance behind her. Another Combat Round. Below will be the Guard's stats. They also rolled higher in initiative, so I'll post their first actions below the stats.Enemy / Defense / Vitality / Wound / Fortitude / Reflex / Will / Damage Reduction
Guard(W10) / 10 / 0 / 11 / 25 / 19 / 12 / 2 Guard(X10) / 10 / 0 / 11 / 25 / 19 / 12 / 2The first guard yells, "Don't move!", and readies his weapon, aiming for Avery's chest. The second guard, noticing the state of the scientist and alien within the room, fires off three easy shots, killing each of them in turn.

Avery rolled behind the table, using it for shelter from the guards. She dialed her blaster back to the highest setting, propped it against the tabletop to steady her aim, and squeezed off a shot aimed at the guard nearest to her.

OOC: Alrighty. Just a couple of things about your last post . First, each combat round there are only a certain amount of actions that can be taken. You can have mostly any number of Free actions, but try to keep them within reason. Those are actions such as talking. Then you have a movement action (or actions that are equivalent. Some skill use could be considered a movement action (they would say so in the skill description. Finally you have a third action. Either you can take another movement action or a standard attack action. A character may only make one of these against one target per round. There is any exception. Once a character's base attack bonus reaches 6 or higher a character can make two attacks per round. In order to do this they much make a "full attack action" This means that they'll only attack that round, and do nothing else (that includes not being able to take a movement action).
So, what that means is that you were only able to make one attack action that past round. I'll go ahead and use your higher roll for the attack . Also, in the future you can go ahead and include a damage roll with all attack rolls just in case the attack hits . It'll save a little time .
Finally, I apologize for you not being able to see that stats XD. On my color template, it showed up just fine. So, I changed that so you can see it. Go ahead and modify your post to include the damage roll (and yes you get a +1 to damage for point blank shot ), and include the amount of damage done. I'll post after that. Facility MapAvery's shot hits home. The guard she shot at gasps as the blaster bolt buries itself into his stomach. Red blood spread quickly throughout his white uniform. Both guards fire back, but Avery flipped the table over and used it as cover. The shots are easily absorbed by the table. Grunting in frustration both Guards move to the edges of the room, hoping to get some semblance of cover from the shelves and jars.
Enemy / Defense / Vitality / Wound / Fortitude / Reflex / Will / Damage Reduction
Guard(U10) / 10 / 0 / 1 / 25 / 19 / 12 / 2 Guard(Z10) / 10 / 0 / 11 / 25 / 19 / 12 / 2
The stats have been updated. Guard (U11) has only 1 Wound point. Next time around you can go ahead and determine for yourself if the attack hits and how much damage you do . If your attack roll is equal to or higher than the Defense score, you hit. Then your damage - the Damage Reduction is the amount of damage done to them . I say that you can figure it out for yourself so that IF you kill one of them, you can roleplay how they die =p

Avery popped off another shot in the direction of the wounded guard, then ducked back behind the table.

Avery's gun clicks and doesn't fire. Stumped for a moment, she quickly realizes that her power pack must've died. She'd need to put in a new one before she could fire again. The guards sensing a good moment to attack continue firing, but miss horribly. It seems strange that in such a secret facility the guards would be so lax.
Since you rolled a natural one on an attack roll, your power pack ran out of shots.

Without thinking, Avery reached behind her and slipped her hand into the side pocket of her bag. Ever since a bad experience with an empty blaster that had almost gotten her killed a couple years back, she'd been paranoid about running out of shots and always carried two extra power packs. And she was downright anal about being able to get to them quickly in a fight. She even practiced pulling them out from behind her and switching them out almost as much as she practiced drawing her weapon. Most people thought it was overkill. But most people ended up dead if they couldn't get to the ammo in time.
Restocking her weapon took fractions of a second. The power pack slipped into the base of her blaster with a small, familiar click!. Again, she took aim at the wounded guard, hoping this time the gun would behave itself.
OOC: Attack: U10 [dice=20] +6 +1 Damage: [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6] +1
This time, the sound of a body hitting the floor echoed off the walls. Avery's face stayed serious, emotionless. She didn't enjoy killing, but better them than her. Besides, if she celebrated now, it would break her concentration and allow the other guard a chance to mount a retaliatory strike. This mission was already more than what she'd bargained for - she didn't need a gunshot wound to complicate it further. [rand=627175450790673502587974769994616507108808029443026602537841303274]

The second guard, seeing his comrade fall in combat, wavered for a moment. A look of panic crossed his face and for a moment it looked as if he was going to flee. However, even more panic crossed his face when he realized what would happen if he did run. He'd rather die. Gripping his gun tighter, he popped of a few more shots. As if he'd never had any practice with a blaster, his bolts went wide. His heart sunk. It was a numbers game...and it was only so long before his number was up, especially if he couldn't get himself to hit her.

Realizing there was only one other living person in the room and that she STILL had no answers, Avery switched her blaster back to stun and aimed the blast at the final guard. Guards patrolled areas that other people weren't allowed access to, so a nice little chat with the nice man in white might be of use.

Avery's shot dissipated shortly before it hit the guard. The guard was actually surprised for a moment. He was sure that he was going to be hit. Fortunately, his training snapped him back into the present. Hoping that perhaps his adversary was also slightly confused, he took his time taking his shot. Shooting off a flurry of blaster bolts, one finally hit! Luckily for Avery it wasn't a bad hit. Her reflexes had saved her from a much worse shot. The blaster bolt had nicked her in the shoulder, burning a hole in her shirt, but only slightly charring her flesh. Confident because of his hit, the guard said, " If you surrender now, maybe we can work something out."
For future reference stun shots have to be within 4 meters of your target. So, your bolt lost power before hitting its target. Also, the guard managed to hit Avery, so she takes 8 Vitality damage. I'll modify your mini-profile to reflect that.

Avery winced as the bolt skimmed her shoulder. Just great she though as she moved it to assess the damage. It hurt, but it wasn't that bad. She'd had worse. Besides, it was on her non-dominate arm, so she'd be fine.
After hearing his taunt, she sighed. She had hoped to grill him for information, but now he was just getting cocky and annoying. And he had SHOT her. "Forget it." she muttered as she switched her blaster back to full power and fired off another shot. It was time to get out of this room and move on, information or not. Whatever info she would have been able to squeeze out of him was not worth getting injured for, so it was time to end this fight.

Feeling much more confident, the guard manages to dodge Avery's next few shots. His eyes burn with a quite fire. He enjoyed hurting people, and this place most of all allowed him to do that. Lining up his next shot, he fires. Avery was hit again.
"I'm going to put you down for what you've done!" he declared, his spirit fueled by his recent success.
The guard manages to hit again for 14 damage reducing Avery's vitality to 11.

Avery didnt even reply. She refused to let horrible, overly dramatic comments through off her concentration. Her wounds, however, were beginning to twinge painfully. This firefight needed to end NOW.

The guard cursed himself when Avery's shot hit. The bolt buried itself in his abdomen and blood began to seep into his clean white clothes. Knowing that he would probably not live to see another day, he put everything he had left into his next shot hoping that maybe he could best the female intruder.
Grunting as his legs began to loose their ability to stand, he fell against the shelf. A few jars fell onto the ground and the tile hissed as the liquid spilled and evaporated almost as soon as it touched the air. The guard used the shelf to prop himself up, and popped off a few more rounds. His shots missed, but only by a small margin. Avery could feel the hot energy of his blaster bolts as they flew past her head and into the wall behind her.
